The Curve of The Neck is Vitally Important for Normal Function of The Whole Body
Progressive Stages of Degeneration
Normal
Primary Loss of Curve
Secondary Degeneration
End Stage Degeneration
Straightening of the cervical curve can weaken the normal function of the immune system. The of this curve can also compromise organ systems, cause muscles to present with weakness or rigidity and in general may increase a pain sensitivity. Pain may also shift and move around to seem almost random. This was made clear by:
Irvin M. Korr in his 1979 study
“Loss of the cervical curve (i.e. loss of normal spinal posture), stretches the spinal cord 5-7 centimeters, and causes disease.”
Dr. A. Breig, Neuro-surgeon
Adverse Mechanical Tension in the Central Nervous System:
An Analysis of Cause and Effect. 1978.
Loss of Cervical Lordosis causes constipation. Forward head posture can add up to 30 lbs of abnormal leverage on the spine, causing additional strain and spinal misalignment and postural deviation to the entire spine. The entire gastrointestinal system is affected particularly the large intestine. Loss of bowel parastaltic function and evacuation is a common development and effect seen from loss of cervical lordosis.
Rene Cailliet 1987
Loss of a Cervical Lordosis results in an altering of afferent input primarily from the upper cervical region, leading to eventual disturbances in gait, dizziness, loss of balance, and ataxia.
Neurology India December 2001
A deviation in the spinal lordotic and kyphotic curves increases mortality, resulting in 14 years off your life.
